Recreation Swim

Recreation swim is a fun, casual exercise for swimmers of all ages. The City of Palo Alto offers Recreation Swim between the months of May through September, every year. For admission rates, please see below.

Pool Schedules

The Rinconada wading pool is open for recreation swim on Saturdays and Sundays only from 12:15pm - 4:15pm. The wading pool is no longer open on weekdays (Mon-Fri). The last day of the recreation swim season is Saturday, September 20.

Rinconada Pool
Rinconada's Wading Pool offers features like "lemon drop" geysers, a circular waterfall, “Aqua-ducks” (water bicycles that squirt water), a zero depth “beach” area ideal for infants, as well as a small slide. The maximum depth is 3 feet.

Rinconada’s Lap Pool includes two diving boards and 14 lap lanes (25 yards in length.) In addition to our Recreation Swim program in the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons, we offer early morning, midday and evening lap swim sessions for your convenience.

Both Rinconada's Wading and Lap Pools are heated to 80 degrees year-round.

Frequent swimmer? Skip the lines and pay less! Swimmers can now buy swims in packs of 10 through their EnjoyOnline account. To get started, setup your account at Once setup, inform the Aquatics Staff at Rinconada Pool at your next visit and they’ll take your picture and print you a card. Each time you come to the pool, the staff will scan your card and a swim will be deducted. If you’re running low and need to add more swims, login to your EnjoyOnline account and add another 10 pack.
