34th Annual Summer Festival and Chili Cook Off

The tradition continues as we celebrate Independence Day at the 34th Annual City of Palo Alto Summer Festival & Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, July 4. With live music featuring Rockin' Down the Higway (Music from the Doobie Brothers); a variety of children’s activities; art activities by the Palo Alto Art Center, and more. The Chili Cook Off has something for every member of the family.

Chili lovers … Pull out your best recipe and get ready to compete in the heated competition of the City of Palo Alto’s 34th Annual Summer Festival and Chili Cook-Off on 4th July!

The judges will award over $2,000 in cash and prizes to the chili division and Best Overall Chili Winners.  There’s also the coveted Best Booth and Best Spirit Awards up for grabs so pull your team together now and start planning a great day of cooking, decorating and fun. But that’s not all! Don’t forget the public will also vote for the People’s Choice Award, so let the battle begin and may the best teams win!

DON’T FORGET:
There will be a mandatory cooks meeting for any new teams which will be held on Thursday evening June 18th from 7-8PM. At least one cook from each team is required to attend.  If you do not attend, you may not compete for prizes. This is a great time to share ideas, answer questions and understand all health department regulations.

DEPOSIT:
There is NO FEE to enter! However, we do require a $50 refundable deposit that will be returned provided your booth is left in good condition and that all decorations have been removed.  Please make check payable to City of Palo Alto.  Cancellations must be made one week prior to event to receive deposit refund. Cancellations made less than one week before event will forfeit deposit.

DIVISIONS:
Corporate: This is for any business, non-profit, community or service organization, or other formal organization from which you have recruited your team.
Open: This group is for anyone else.  Got a particularly interesting group of neighbors? Got a softball team, bowling team or poker friends? Then this category is for you!  Please note:  Open division entries will receive a $150 stipend for participation.  Checks will be distributed at the Festival.

DEADLINE: 
Entry forms and deposits must be submitted by Wednesday, June 10, 2015.
