| |  The City of Palo Alto Gas Engineering Section is responsible for planning, designing, budgeting and construction of major capital improvements to the city’s gas distribution system. This program replaces approximately 30,000 lineal feet of gas mains and 500 services each year. This program to date has replaced approximately 310,000 linear feet of gas mains and 5,000 service lines.
