Give More, Wrap Less
Give gifts that don’t create waste

This year, rather than giving more "stuff", that eventually ends up in our landfills, consider giving "non-stuff" gifts such as experiences, services and donations.

Give an Experience - Experience gift choices are endless so there’s something for everybody and they create a cherished memory for your loved one. As life gets more and more hectic, people have less and less time to spend together. Your experience gift can have the added benefit of allowing you to spend time with your family and friends, one of the most precious gifts of all.

Experience gift ideas:

  • Tickets to a sporting event, stage play, movie, or even an aquarium!
  • Annual passes to museums or parks
  • Gift certificates for a massage, ski rental or restaurant

Give a Service – Service gifts may be the best thing you could do for your loved one. This gives you the chance to help them spoil themselves, try out a new hobby or get that pesky detail done that they just haven’t worked into their schedule yet.

Service gift ideas:

  • Music or dance lessons
  • Yard, housecleaning or diaper service
  • Gift certificates for a bike repair, car washes or oil changes

Give a Donation – For that person who has everything, consider making a donation in their name to their favorite local charity or nonprofit organization. Websites like “charitynavigator.org” make it easy to find the right one.
