The Palo Alto Landfill is nearing its closure date so it is now necessary to reduce the size of the Palo Alto Recycling Center. As of January 12, 2009, the southern portion of the current Recycling Center was closed and is being used by the landfill to finalize its filling operations.
Although smaller in size, the Recycling Center remains in its current location, at the eastern end of Embarcadero Road before the landfill tollbooth. However, the gate was relocated slightly north of its current location as of January 12, 2009.
Additional changes will occur over time in regard to the materials accepted at the Recycling Center. Please check for the detailed list of items accepted.
