Instructions for Online Reporting

The following crimes and incidents may be reported using this form.

  • Auto Burglary - Someone broke into your locked vehicle and took items from within. If your vehicle was left unlocked, it is considered a theft.
  • Theft - The unlawful taking of the personal property of another.
  • Vandalism - Malicious mischief or damage done to your property.
  • Lost/Stolen Property - Property that is lost or stolen, with no suspect information i.e. wallets or purses, bicycles.
  • Leaf Blower Ordinance Violations - On June 13, 2005, the Palo Alto City Council passed an ordinance prohibiting the use of a particular type of leaf blower in residential zones of the city.
  • Abandoned Bicycles - You may report abandoned vehicles on city streets. You can also report an abandoned vehicle by calling the City of Palo Alto Abandoned Vehicle Hotline at (650) 329-2258.
  • Make a Confidential Crime Tip - Online Crime Tip Reporting allows citizens of the community to anonymously provide information to the Police about suspicious activity and criminal actions within their neighborhoods.
