The Police Report Log lists all the the Police Reports taken by the Palo Alto Police Department during a 24 hour period. This log is only produced during the business week and the date listed reflects the date the log was produced. Each log will contain report information from the previous day. Monday's log will contain report information from the weekend. It also can contain report information from previous dates that had not been turned in for various reasons. The Police Report Log lists (in order from left to right) the Incident Number, the Incident Date, the Time the Incident was Reported, The Location of the Incident, Incident Call Type (classification), Reporting District (RD)*, Disposition code (Dispo)**, and Incident remarks (brief description of the incident). Log entries for reports that are considered "confidential" will not include the Location or Incident remarks.
Currently, the Report Log postings will be updated daily Tuesday through Friday. There will be no updates posted on Weekends, City Holidays and most Mondays.
Ten (10) days worth of data will be available on line. * Due to budget related staffing cuts, report logs will not be posted every other Friday begining 7/10/09
* Reporting district - The City is divided into numerous reporting districts. Reporting districts can be as large as a neighborhood and as small as a single address such as a park or school.
** Disposition Codes- Valid disposition codes in this log are: BK = Booked, RM = Report Made and CT - Misdemeanor Citation.
