Fall - CHSRA completes the full program level EIR/EIS (including the Bay Area to Central Valley segment) November 4 - California voters approve Proposition 1A giving the CHSRA $9.95 billion in initial funding for the project

December – State courts de-certify the Bay Area to Central Valley segment of the program level EIR/EIS in response to litigation. The court ruled the program level EIR/EIS failed to explain how it would mitigate vibration and track right-of-way issues south of San Jose with Union Pacific Railroad 2010
March 4 – CHSRA issues a revised draft program level EIR/EIS for the Bay Area to Central Valley segment and it goes into a public comment period
April 8 – Preliminary Alternatives Analysis released for the San Francisco to San Jose section
April 26 – Comment period closes for the draft program level EIR/EIS for the Bay Area to Central Valley segment
June 30 – Preliminary Alternatives Analysis comments due August 5 - Supplemental Alternatives Analysis released for the San Francisco to San Jose section
December – Draft project level EIR/EIS is expected to be released and will go into a public comment period for approximately 60 days2011
