Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program (NTCP)

The Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program (NTCP) is a set of procedures and guidelines for traffic calming on a citywide basis for individual local and collector streets. This program does not apply to residential arterial streets or to neighborhood-wide projects. A $150,000 annual budget pays for the "spot treatment" traffic calming projects on one or a few local and collector streets. The NTCP helps the City to be more responsive to residents' concerns about traffic problems on residential local and collector streets. Residents who are interested in having a street considered for a traffic calming project should read through the Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program booklet, then submit a request following the instructions in Chapter VI, Step 1.
