Palo Alto Mediation Program

The Palo Alto Mediation Program exists to empower citizens to resolve their disputes through a voluntary dispute resolution process.  Typical cases handled by the program include tenant/landlord, neighbor to neighbor, consumer, workplace, and business-to-business disputes.  The program services are free and available to anyone who lives, works, or does business, or owns property in Palo Alto.

The City of Palo Alto offers a Mandatory Response Program for certain types of disputes involving rental housing properties.

Landlord Registry:
All landlords are required by City Municipal Code Chapter 9.72, Title 9 to register their rental property with the City of Palo Alto.
