The City of Palo Alto offers Lap Swim year round at Rinconada Pool and during the summer months at JLS Middle School pool. JLS is open for recreation and lap swim from the third week in June through the first week in August annually.
Lap swim is a low-impact exercise for swimmers of all levels. Rinconada has 14 lap lanes, 25 yards in length that are designated by speed (slow, medium and fast). We offer early morning, midday and evening lap swim sessions for your convenience. Rinconada Pool is heated to 80 degrees.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 11:15am-2:45pm and 6:30-8:45pm*
Tuesday, Thursday: 6:00-9:30am and 1:30-4:30pm**

Sunday: 7:00-9:30am and 5:00-8:30pm
Staff Inservice Training Week:
In order to ensure the safest aquatic environment, The City of Palo Alto Lifeguard staff is recertified in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid and Automatic External Defibrillator during the third week of June annually. We continue to offer early morning and evening lap swim but reserve the pool for training during the midday and afternoon.

Drop In:
General (youth, teens and adults): $4.00
Senior (60 & older): $3.00
Lap Swim Membership:
Swimmers purchase swims (no minimum or maximum). Card is swiped at the pool and a swim is deducted. Memberships are available for purchase at Lucie Stern Community Center (1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto) and Rinconada Pool during Recreation Swim hours. Price per swim is below:
Palo Alto Resident Adult (18 – 59 years): $3.00
Palo Alto Resident Senior (60 & older): $2.00
Non-Resident Adult (18 – 59 years): $3.50
Non-Resident Senior (60 & older): $2.50
Resident Ticket Books:
Palo Alto residents only – must show photo ID upon purchase. Unfortunately we do not sell ticket books to residents of neighboring communities (Stanford, Menlo Park, East Palo Alto, Mountain View etc.)
