Science Outreach for Schools
Throughout the school academic year, trained Museum educators bring a wide range of standards-based science programs into K-5 local elementary school classrooms. Programs can be tailored to complement core science instruction, or structured as stand-alone experiences for students. They may be offered in school classrooms or at the Museum. Lessons typically last 50 minutes long and include hands-on encounters with live animals, natural artifacts and science tools and materials. Prices per class range from $100 to $140 depending upon the number of classes purchased, and Palo Alto schools receive a modest discount. Click here for a full list of offerings. To register for a class, please contact Alex Hamilton via e-mail (Alex.Hamilton@CityofPaloAlto.org) or by phone (650-329-2412).
Interpretive Programs for Preschools and Community Groups
Community, neighborhood, family and scout groups may also take advantage of these unique educational opportunities by signing up for a Science Interpretive Program. Interpretives can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the group and can be delivered either at the Museum site or at an offsite location in your community. To schedule a Science Interpretive Program, please contact Becky Swanson via e-mail (Rebecca.Swanson@CityofPaloAlto.org) or by phone (650-329-2402).
