Description: 
The Social Services Agency is a culturally sensitive and socially responsible public agency providing high quality, professional, financial, and protective services for residents of Santa Clara County. The mission of the Social Services Agency is to: - Prevent abuse and to ensure the medical, physical, financial, and emotional well-being of children and adults at risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. - Maintain or restore family and kinship ties whenever possible and help families understand and learn the skills and behaviors needed to safely care for and nurture their children and elders. - Maintain safe, healthy, and independent lifestyles for residents through specialized and in-home services aimed at preventing or delaying institutionalization in a manner that respects their personal liberty. - Assist residents in acquiring the resources needed to gain and retain competitive employment and to secure a more challenging, satisfying, and economically rewarding life for themselves and their children.
