Community Child Care Council of Santa Clara County (4 C's)
Description: Child Care Resource and Referral Program provides confidential, free assistance in locating the full range of licensed family day care and center child care options including infant, preschool and school-age child care, including care givers who have education and/or training with special needs children. Referrals are also made to other community agencies for in-home care, sick child care, recreation programs, day camp and Head Start. Publishes a newsletter. Offers technical assistance, consultations, seminars, monthly workshops and conferences for child care providers and potential child care providers. Topics include nutrition, family day care business, child development and behavior, and day care curriculum. Provides a resource library offering videos and books. Offers parent education workshops on choosing child care and on parenting skills, communication and discipline. Employer Supported Resource and Referral Program provides parent education and family support via seminars at the work site about child care resources and selecting, assessing and using care services. Also provides an enhanced child care referral program for local and national corporations and technical assistance regarding corporate child care options. Subsidized Child Care Programs provide child care subsidies through Alternative Payment, Family Daycare Network, and Respite programs for low-income persons and families needing child care in order to work or attend training. Child Care Food Program offers nutrition information and financial reimbursement to licensed family day care providers serving USDA-approved meals. Gain Child Care Resource and Referral Program provides specialized child care counseling and referral services to AFDC recipients participating in the GAIN program. Trustline assists parents using child care providers who are exempt from licensure through fingerprinting and child abuse clearance.
