Description: Shared Adventures is a Santa Cruz, California based non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the outdoors into the lives of people with physical challenges and special needs. The highlight each year is "The Day on the Beach" where an enormous number of volunteers help facilitate kayaking, surfing and scuba diving for those who due to their disabilities, i.e., head injuries, quadriplegia, etc., might never have dreamed of participating in such activities. Throughout the year Shared Adventures organizes kayaking excursions, camping trips, days to explore local hiking trails, elephant seal watching, whale watching, bowling, and climbing trips. To facilitate these activities Shared Adventures depends upon volunteers who would benefit from involvement in this innovative and valuable program. The joy and adventure of helping others is a life long gift to all who volunteer and who participate.
