Description:
Three of Stanford's seven schools offer undergraduate and graduate programs: Earth Sciences, Engineering and Humanities and Sciences. The other four schools offer graduate programs: Business, Education, Law and Medicine. Academic programs exist for areas of study that cross several disciplines. Stanford offers various opportunities for lifelong learning. Continuing Studies schedules a broad range of courses, seminars and workshops for people in the Bay Area. The Stanford Center for Professional Development provides degree and non-degree distance-learning courses. The Graduate School of Business and the Law School offer executive education programs. The Education Program for Gifted Youth offers e-learning courses for K-12 students. And the local community can participate in programs for area children and teachers. Stanford Lively Arts annually brings to campus a full season of music, dance and theater by world-famous artists and exceptional newcomers. In addition to on-stage performances, Lively Arts extends and supplements the academic life of the university through master classes, extended residencies, workshops, lecture/demonstrations and group discussions. Extensive community programs, many of which are free and open to the public, provide additional opportunities for engaging with artists and the arts. Discounts on performances are available. For tickets and information, visit http://livelyarts.stanford.edu or call 650-725-ARTS (2787).
