Description:
Adolescent Counseling Services (ACS) promotes healthy social and emotional development through counseling and education for adolescents, their families and their communities. ACS provides adolescents and their families with the tools necessary to build healthy and productive relationships and lifestyles. Highly regarded for its professionalism and confidentiality, ACS is a trusted resource within the community. Led by a group of dedicated and highly trained staff, ACS serves Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties through three programs. Caravan House, a long-term residential treatment program that serves girls ages 12 to 18; an On-Campus Counseling Program that provides free counseling to students and their families at Jane Lathrop MS, Jordan MS, Terman MS, Palo Alto HS, Gunn HS, and Menlo-Atherton HS. The On-Campus Counseling Program also offers specialized services to the Latino student community through its Latino Outreach Program. ACS' third program, the Substance Abuse Treatment Program, helps adolescents and their families struggling with drug and/or alcohol abuse. This program addresses the underlying causes of drug and alcohol addition and encourages abstinence and healthy alternative lifestyles. The Substance Abuse Treatment Program is a fee-for-service program with rates based on a moderate sliding scale. The Substance Abuse Treatment Program is located at 445 Sherman Avenue, Suite J in Palo Alto and can be reached by calling 650-329-9410. For other information, please visit us at www.acs.teens.org
