Description: Closet is a nonprofit organization that provides interview-quality, professional business clothing at no charge to economically disadvantaged women in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. Career Closet strives to elevate the marketability and self-esteem of those women who complete a job readiness program and actively seek employment. Career Closet's clients come from many walks of life.
Two criteria for clients to come to Career Closet is that they must be low income and they must have completed a job readiness program. Clients are currently referred by 50+ partner social service agencies in.
Women come to the Career Closet: by referral and by appointment only. Donations may be taken to any of three locations: 1) Career Closet in San Jose's Princeton Plaza Mall at Blossom Hill, Kooser, and Meridian Avenues, inside the mall behind Michael's Jewelry from the Blossom Hill Road side. The address is 1375 Blossom Hill Road, #6, San Jose, CA 95118 (408-448-3215). 2) Career Closet in San Mateo at 1163 Chess Drive, Foster City 94404 (650-572-1368) located off highway 92 and Foster City Boulevard. 3) The Tailor Maid located in Stanford Shopping Center, C-675 on the second floor( 650-328-8858).
