Palo Alto, CA -- On October 18 at approximately 3:30 a.m., a home invasion robbery occurred in the 2000 block of Amherst Avenue in Palo Alto. The victim, who was home alone in the bedroom, woke up to find an unknown male suspect inside. The suspect restrained and blindfolded the victim. The victim heard at least one other male voice in the bedroom but could not give any description due to the blindfold.
One suspect told the victim that he was there to commit a robbery. The suspect did not injure the victim and eventually left the scene in an unknown direction. It is unknown if anything was stolen from the victim at this time. The victim could only describe the suspect as being tall and lean. The victim then contacted the Palo Alto Police Department. Due to the ongoing investigation, no other information is available.
The Palo Alto Police Department would like to remind and encourage its residents to remember to close and lock all windows and doors, especially night time hours.
Anyone with information about this crime is encouraged to call Detective Rich Bullerjahn of the Body Crimes Division at 650-329-2274.
